Lemm Elementary Awarded $7,270 from KEF for ‘As a Matter of Fact’ Grant

Lemm Elementary Awarded $7,270 from KEF for ‘As a Matter of Fact’ Grant

Lemm received a Klein ISD Education Foundation (KEF) grant for the “ As a Matter of Fact” program to improve the math skills of 4th and 5th graders.

In a surprise visit orchestrated by the KEF Celebration Express, the school was honored with the grant in the presence of Foundation directors, community members, and our esteemed Superintendent, Dr. Jenny McGown.

Amidst an atmosphere of joy and excitement, the Lemm elementary staff welcomed numerous Foundation supporters disembarking from the Celebration Express school bus. They presented substantial grants to the recipients, including Lemm Elementary.

The elementary school will use the $7,270 grant sponsored by Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott LLP to purchase Fluency Kits for all math classrooms along with implementing a “Pop-Up Facts Lab” that will have 4th and 5th graders as this grant’s highest priority.

With these Fluency Kits and Pop-Up Lab, students will get daily, targeted practice for the math skills that will contribute to their ability to solve more complicated, complex math problems quickly and accurately.

“As a matter of fact, we cannot wait to see the Lemm Lions math facts fluency skyrocket,” KEF Director Christy Spisak said.  “This grant is amazing, and the addition of the Fluency Kits and Pop-Up Facts Lab will make a huge impact on students!”

This fall, the KEF Celebration Express distributed grants totaling $79,134, enriching educational experiences for our learners. These grants encompass various innovative and engaging projects, from initiatives focused on Math fluency to those enhancing literacy. The Fall 2023 grant recipients are not only innovative but also serve as a source of inspiration.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to all our grant sponsors whose contributions have made these initiatives possible. Your support plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational journey of every Klein ISD student.

The Klein ISD Education Foundation accepts grant applications biannually, encouraging, facilitating, and acknowledging creative projects that drive academic success for our Klein ISD students.
