KISD Community Flyers: ACTIVESTARS https://tx.activstars.com The following information outlines the schedules, costs, and registration requirements for the upcoming ACTIVSTARS Karate and Cheerleading semester. The karate program covers essential life skills, respect, discipline, self-defense, abduction prevention, and anti-bullying. It includes clinics, camps, and tournaments up to the national level, with advancement through black belt under certified instructors. Lessons cost $10 per week for a 45-minute session or $11 per week for a 60-minute extended class. Sparring carries an additional $4 fee. Uniforms are available for $33.00 but are not required. Students not in uniform must wear loose-fitting clothing. The cheerleading program is organized by age groups and skill levels, ranging from Junior Varsity to All Star teams. Practice fees are $10 per week for 45 minutes or $11 per week for 60-minute All Star practices. Students must wear tennis shoes and comfortable attire. High-quality pom-poms for the JV level are $27. Two-color poms for Varsity and All-Star teams are $24 per set. General Registration and Policies Registration must be completed online and is open during the first three weeks of the semester. A non-refundable registration fee of $15.00 is required. A parent or legal guardian must register the student. Participants have the option to pay weekly or for the full semester. In the event of bad weather, the class will be held the following week. Additional costs may apply for certain items or events. Equipment such as karate GIs, cheer poms, and soccer gear are available through the program's online portal.

All experience levels from beginner through elite are welcome to work with knowledgeable, experienced, and certified coaches. A free registration breakfast and mandatory orientation session will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, beginning at 8:45 AM. The event takes place at Crossover Bible Church, 12332 Perry Road, Houston, TX 77070. Practices begin in February at Cy-Fair and Klein ISD tracks. The full season registration fee is 295 dollars and includes dues, uniform, team t-shirt, and insurance. Klein ISD earned an A rating in the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) component of the Texas Education Agency’s 2025 A–F Accountability Ratings and maintained a B overall, rising from an 80 in 2023 to an 86 in 2025.
Since the TEA raised performance standards in 2023, the district has seen a 30% increase in A-rated schools, a 13% increase in B-rated schools, and a 55% decrease in C-rated schools, with no schools rated D or F. All five high schools and all ten intermediate schools earned an A or B, and students across Klein ISD earned 127 academic distinctions, a 37% increase since 2023.
